Position Overview
Fiver seeks an organized, relationship-oriented Events & Donor Engagement Manager to lead fundraising events and donor engagement initiatives that advance the organization’s mission and fundraising goals.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Development, this role manages the logistics and execution of Fiver’s signature events, including the Annual Benefit, donor cultivation and stewardship events, corporate engagement opportunities, and special fundraising initiatives. The Manager also serves as staff lead for Fiver Advocates, Fiver’s junior board, and manages peer-to-peer and endurance fundraising efforts.
The ideal candidate is a strong project manager and relationship-builder who thrives in a collaborative environment. As a member of the Development team, this role works closely with colleagues across the organization and engages regularly with donors, board members, corporate partners, volunteers, participants, and families.
Event Strategy & Management (50%)
Manage the logistics and execution of Fiver’s fundraising and engagement events, including:
- Fiver’s Annual Benefit, including project management, timelines, logistics, vendor coordination, sponsorship fulfillment, guest management, budget tracking, and event execution
- Annual Fall Fest fundraiser for the central NY donor community (held at Camp Fiver)
- Donor cultivation and stewardship events throughout the year
- Support corporate engagement and volunteer events in partnership with Senior Director of Development
- Development-related board and committee events, including the Annual Board Retreat
- Work in collaborations with Senior Development Operations Associate on event registration systems, invitation processes, guest tracking, support seating management, and attendance reconciliation
- Manage Event budgets, contracts, invoices, and expense tracking
- Event communications in partnership with marketing consultant
- Post-event stewardship, reporting, evaluation, and recommendations for future improvements
Donor Engagement & Peer-to-Peer Fundraising (50%)
Manage and grow opportunities for donor engagement and grassroots fundraising by:
- Serving as staff liaison to Fiver Advocates, Fiver’s junior board
- Serving as staff liaison to the Central NY Steering Committee, a group of dedicated supporters located near our camp in upstate NY.
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding, meeting planning, fundraising initiatives, and volunteer opportunities for Fiver Advocates members
- Managing Fiver’s Giving Tuesday peer-to-peer fundraising campaign
- Identifying and coordinating participation in future endurance fundraising opportunities, including marathons, bike rides, and other community fundraising events
- Supporting volunteer engagement opportunities that strengthen donor, board, and community relationships
- Oversee the fulfillment of Fiver merchandise orders; partner with Senior Director of Development in the selection of new merchandise options annually.
- Manage donor participation/attendance to program activities, such as summer job training visits and in office events, alumni induction ceremony, Fiver Family Day, etc.
- Partnering with the Senior Development Operations Associate to execute donor stewardship plans
- Developing content and engagement opportunities for first-time donors
- Managing post-event donor follow-up and stewardship communications
- Supporting sponsor stewardship and recognition efforts
- Assisting with stewardship mailings, impact reporting, and donor communications
- Identifying opportunities to strengthen donor retention and engagement through personalized experiences
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
- 3–5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, event management, donor relations, community engagement, or a related field
- Demonstrated success managing complex events with multiple stakeholders
- Strong project management and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with donors, volunteers, corporate partners, and board members
- Experience with donor databases and CRM systems preferred (Fiver uses Raiser’s Edge NXT)
- Familiarity with project management tools (Fiver uses Asana)
- Familiarity with peer-to-peer fundraising platforms and event registration systems preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace; experience with Canva a plus
