The Executive Vice President of Social Action, Partnerships, and Alliances will be the senior executive leading the development, execution, and assessment for all US based social action campaigns, private and public partnerships, and non-profit, political, and NGO alliances to further the mission and work of the Simon Wiesenthal Center and its Museums of Tolerance. Working with a variety of stakeholders, including media, non-profits, corporate, local, state, and federal officials, and the mainstream public to further SWC’s commitment to confront anti-Semitism, hate, defend the safety of Israel and Jews worldwide, and teach the lessons of the Holocaust for future generations through its advocacy and education programs, investigations, research, reporting, media, films, and museums.
The Executive Vice President of Social Action, Partnerships, and Alliances must be a strategic and collaborative leader with high energy and a desire to innovate and establish new programming to counter hate, intolerance, suppression, and ensure the safety of the Jewish people worldwide. This senior leadership team member will serve as an organizational ambassador, advocating for the mission of SWC externally and creating a culture of respect and open communication in the social justice and advocacy team.
Experience and Professional Qualifications:
- Ten or more years’ experience in relevant leadership roles across the non-profit and/or corporate industry.
- An established track record as an executive leader with strong and demonstrable experience in social justice, advocacy, and/or bringing about large-scale change by engaging and involving the public on issues through a variety of channels.
- Knowledge of and appreciation for developments in technology, and social media; aptitude and desire to build the organization’s engagement with its audience through developing initiatives which access new communication methodologies.
- Prior experience in Jewish focused, affiliated, or serving non-profit, NGO’s, organizations, or corporations a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate a team and a track record of recruiting and retaining staff.
- Excellent strategic thinking skills with the ability to conceptualize and create initiatives that advance the core mission, vision, and values of SWC.
- A vast network across the non-profit, social justice, and corporate sectors domestically. A temperament leaning towards relationship development and networking.
- Experience partnering with revenue generating and marketing departments on messaging and programmatic activities.
- Background in business development or fundraising, including success in creating partnerships and raising funds/support from a wide variety of sources.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with experience and comfort communicating to large groups and across various media streams.
