The Executive Director (Chief, Business Operations and Strategic Engagements Branch) ensures OFCIO has the necessary business processes, relationships, and expertise to meet current and emerging mission requirements.

Duties

Help

The Office of the Federal Chief Information Officer (OFCIO) manages the Federal Information Technology (IT) portfolio by establishing policies and standards for the use of IT, overseeing agency budgeting and management of IT, and assessing agency information security and cybersecurity policies and practices. The Executive Director reports to the Administrator of E-Gov (the Federal Chief Information Officer) and coordinates office activities and communications with the Deputy Federal CIO (DFCIO) and the Federal Chief Information Security Officer (FCISO).


As Executive Director for the Office of the Federal Chief Information Officer, some of your typical work assignments may include the following:


Managing a team of professional staff to coordinate the smooth flow of work activities including strategic legislative response and outreach, data analytics, budget and policy development, and day-to-day agency operational support and engagement.

Leading the planning, prioritization, and resource allocation strategy for OFCIO, ensuring the office is equipped to meet evolving mission demands.

Driving improvements to internal OFCIO operations, workforce engagement, and employee performance to build a high-performing, accountable organization.

Directing OFCIO business operations, including budget formulation and execution, contract oversight, facilities management, records management, and internal information technology support.

Maintaining strong working relationships to ensure effective coordination and alignment among OMB, the Executive Office of the President (EOP), OFCIO-led Councils, Congress, industry and international partners, and other stakeholders to drive outcomes in support of federal IT statutory requirements and the Administration's IT priorities.

Coordinating with the DFCIO to ensure the Annual President's Budget and supplemental documents are in alignment with Federal Chief Information Officer and Administration priorities across federal agencies.

Supporting intra-agency operations within OMB through close coordination with Executive Secretary staff, Communications, Ethics, and the Office of General Counsel.

Serving as Deputy Federal CIO in the event of vacancy.
