Job Description
Congresswoman Kelly Morrison (MN-03) is seeking interns for Fall 2026 in her Washington, DC office.
This paid, in-person internship offers students and recent graduates the opportunity to gain firsthand experience in Congress while serving the constituents of Minnesota's Third Congressional District. Interns are integrated into the day-to-day work of the office and have the opportunity to engage with the legislative, communications, and operations teams. Congresswoman Morrison's office values collaboration, kindness, professionalism, and a strong commitment to public service.
Responsibilities
Interns may assist the legislative, communications, and operations teams with a variety of responsibilities, including:
- Answering constituent phone calls and categorizing incoming mail
- Arranging and conducting Capitol tours for constituents
- Attending congressional hearings, briefings, and meetings
- Drafting memos for the Congresswoman and staff
- Supporting office operations and special projects
- Completing a capstone project to be presented to the office
Qualifications
Required qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professionalism and good judgment when interacting with constituents, staff, and visitors
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Interest in public service, government, and the legislative process
The following are a plus, but not required:
- Experience in a professional, customer service, or office setting
- Ties to Minnesota or Minnesota's Third Congressional District
- A good sense of humor and positive attitude
