Representative Kelly Morrison (D-MN-03) is seeking legislative interns for the Fall 2025 session in the Washington, D.C., office.
Hours and start/end dates are flexible to accommodate academic schedules, with general guidelines of early September to early December, and hours from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. when Congress is in session and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. when not in session.
As a legislative intern, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the office while gaining valuable experience working with the legislative team on policy matters. Your responsibilities will vary by day, but will include answering phones, managing errands, researching legislation for the Congresswoman and her staff, attending hearings and briefings, leading Capitol tours, and responding to constituent inquiries. This position provides a unique opportunity to gain first-hand experience in learning about the legislative process and the diverse functions of a congressional office.
The ideal candidate has a good sense of humor, is adaptable, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Strong writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders are essential. Experience in a professional environment and district/Minnesota ties are preferred.
