Position Overview
We are seeking reliable, energetic, and outgoing Field Canvassers to support our voter outreach program. Canvassers will go door-to-door in assigned neighborhoods, speak directly with voters, distribute campaign literature, and collect accurate information to help strengthen our field operation.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys talking with people, is comfortable working outdoors, and can represent the campaign professionally in the community.
Responsibilities
- Knock on doors within assigned canvassing areas and speak directly with voters.
- Follow the approved campaign script and communicate candidate information accurately and professionally.
- Distribute campaign literature and other approved materials.
- Ask designated voter survey questions and accurately record responses.
- Enter or report canvassing results and voter contact information as directed.
- Meet expected productivity goals for each shift.
- Attend required training and check-ins with the Field Director or Field Lead.
- Follow assigned turf and canvassing instructions to ensure neighborhoods are covered efficiently.
- Immediately report any issues, incidents, or concerns that occur in the field.
- Treat voters, fellow canvassers, campaign staff, and community members with respect.
- Represent the campaign in a positive, professional, and respectful manner at all times.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable approaching and speaking with voters at their homes.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow directions.
- Ability to walk and remain outdoors for extended periods.
- Comfortable using a smartphone or canvassing application to record voter information.
- Able to work independently while remaining accountable to the field team.
- Campaign, community outreach, customer service, or canvassing experience is helpful but not required.
- Must complete campaign training before beginning field work.
Expectations
Canvassers are expected to arrive on time, complete their assigned shifts and turf, accurately report their work, and maintain professional conduct throughout the program. Reliability, honesty, accuracy, and respectful voter interactions are essential to this position.
