The Office of Congresswoman Luz Rivas (CA-29) is seeking a hardworking, organized, and reliable Field Representative/Grants Coordinator based in the San Fernando Valley in a full-time capacity. This is not an entry level position. 

This position is responsible for building and maintaining positive relationships with constituents, key community leaders and other stakeholders in the southern portion of the Congressional District. This position will monitor and update the District Director and relevant staff on important local issues, emerging trends and critical developments. Additional field responsibilities include attending events as the Member’s representative and staffing the Member, as determined by the District Director. Additionally, this role will oversee the Federal Grants Program which will develop, distribute and maintain monthly grant updates for stakeholders, and promote key successes within the community. This also includes planning and implementing a strong constituency-based outreach program by planning and executing successful grant workshops, drafting letters of support and outreach materials, and monitoring/notifying grant awards in the community. Occasionally this role may be assigned other duties. 

Ideal candidate must possess time management skills and the ability to multitask with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should have excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to work under pressure and a strong commitment to public service. Ability to think strategically and creatively to execute a proactive and informative outreach program. This role regularly interacts with constituents and stakeholders, and candidate should be Constituent Services Driven as well as have a friendly and professional demeanor. Must possess the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgement. 

This position works closely with the District Director and alongside the District team, as well as the DC office to ensure strong communication and collaboration. The position requires the flexibility to work long hours. Diverse and bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. Previous government/public sector and customer service experience are a plus. Knowledge of the southern part of the 29th Congressional District such as Toluca Lake and Valley Village is a plus. 

Annual salary is $55,000 - $65,000 and will depend on experience. There is a standard package of federal benefits, plus a Student Loan Repayment Program provided.
