Position Summary This position works within the Fundraising department. This department is responsible for Individual Giving that supports the Foodbank for NYC. This is a project-based research heavy role. In order to support these tasks, this position will:
Position Summary This position works within the Fundraising department. This department is responsible for Individual Giving that supports the Foodbank for NYC. This is a project-based research heavy role. In order to support these tasks, this position will:
- Organize and evaluate incoming individual donors (500+), delegating to appropriate fundraisers and ensuring alignment with fundraising priorities.
- Identify and qualify new prospective donors through initial background qualification and outreach, including calls, emails, and event invitations to assess interest and engagement potential.
- Conduct in-depth profiles on principal and major gift level current prospects that will allow for enhanced strategy and donor experiences.
- Represent Food Bank and its programs accurately when speaking with donors, volunteers, and colleagues as needed at team events, volunteer opportunities, and organization-wide events.
- Contribute to organizational and departmental culture by working with integrity, maintaining a solutions-oriented approach, and adjusting research to best serve Food Bank’s mission and major gift officers.
- Help secure, maintain and enter information in Raiser’s Edge NXT
- A commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment is required.
- Additional responsibilities as needed to support departmental and strategic goals.
- Bachelor’s degree complete or in progress- preferred Jr. or Sr.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Food Bank For New York City
- Strong written and verbal communication skill
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to produce under deadlines and work independently and effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office. CRM databases (preferably Raiser’s Edge, or Salesforce) is a plus
- Experience with prospect qualification platforms like Inside Philanthropy, DonorSearch, iWave, and LexisNexis (would be preferred)
- Completion of a project that will impact the work being done at The Food Bank for New York City.
- Time with senior executives at intern specific fireside chats
- Presentation skills, present your completed project(s) to The Food Bank stakeholders
- Knowledge of food systems, food safety, and food sustainability
- Experience working in the non-profit space.
