The intern will report to the Senior Manager of Government Relations.
This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in Orlando, Florida, from June 2026 through January 2027. What You Will Do As a Disney Intern on the Government and Industry Relations team, you’ll reside within the Public Affairs department at the Walt Disney World Resort. In this role, you will be part of a team responsible for championing the resort's political and policy strategies and initiatives. We serve as Walt Disney World® Resort’s liaisons to local, state, federal, and international government officials, as well as many industry groups! We support the resort’s upcoming government, political, and policy initiatives.

You Will Also Have The Opportunity To
- Conduct research relevant to the Walt Disney World legislative priorities and work with various internal departments to develop reports for key collaborators.
- Assist with the development and implementation of inside and outside associates' communication strategies for Government Relations partners.
- Working with internal and external partners to plan, support, and implement special events both on Walt Disney World property and in the community.
- Performing additional project work as assigned by Government Relations leadership.
- A confirmed understanding of the political process, municipal operations, and local government.
- Political experience (campaign, district office, or industry relations), preferably in Central Florida (although major political experience outside of Central Florida will also be considered).
- Adept at working harmoniously with diverse groups, synthesizing various points of view that lead to consensus and influence decision-making.
- Shown success in developing and forming relationships.
- A self-motivated, creative innovator with a validated ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and implement them with excellence.
- Readiness to adapt working hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Strong written and verbal communication competence.
- Critical thinking or analytical problem-solving skills.
- Strong creative skills with a confirmed ability to build and develop collateral, presentations, and other communications materials as needed.
- Established computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or MAC OS environment.
- An understanding of emerging and current issues that could impact the organization.
- Knowledge of the Central Florida area.
- Previous Disney experience at the Walt Disney World® Resort.
- Junior or Senior year preferred.
- Pursuing a degree in Political Science, Law, Public Affairs, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field.
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, pursuing a degree, taking at least one class at the time of application, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
- Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney Internship or Disney College Program.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Possess unrestricted work authorization.
- The approximate dates of this internship are June 2026 through January 2027.
- Fully available from Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern Time Zone, with possible weekends or shifts that are outside of these hours for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week.
- Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the Orlando, Florida area.
- Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work.
