Job Description Summary
Faegre Drinker has an opportunity for a part-time Graduate Intern to work with our Government & Regulatory Affairs practice group in our Washington, D.C. office for the Fall 2025 semester. The intern will become a key member of the Faegre Drinker team and provide real-life experience and work assignments in various areas within the consulting practice. This position will work with other talented individuals who share a passion for doing great work in the best interest of our clients.

What you would do:
Actual initial hourly rate may be above or below the above-identified range and will be based on the relevant skills, training, experience, and other job-related factors, including the location where the position is filled, in all cases consistent with applicable law. This is a temporary, non-exempt position with an expected duration of up to four months. The individual’s schedule is anticipated to be up to 20 hours per week and will have require an in-office presence. Please note that as this is a part-time, temporary position, it is not benefits-eligible. However, the individual in this role is eligible to participate in our Employee Assistance Program, Personify Health wellness program, Health Advocate services, they may enroll in our 401(k) plan, and is eligible to accrue (and subsequently take) paid time off.

Job Description
What you would do:
- Assist in researching key advocacy areas based on client needs
- Assist in the development and writing of reports and policy materials
- Help draft and prepare materials for distribution during client meetings and briefings
- Attend, take notes, and report back on congressional hearings and other Washington, DC policy events such as briefings and report unveil
- Monitor pending, and proposed legislation related to our clients
- Participate in client meetings or calls and produce summaries
- Assist in researching, forecasting, and evaluating the effects of public policy on our clients
- When possible and appropriate, accompany professionals to meetings
- Participate in firm/practice group meetings
- Special projects and other duties as assigned
- Ability to problem-solve
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in a virtual environment (e.g., via phone, web/videoconference)
- Ability to concentrate on tasks, make decisions and work calmly and effectively in a high-pressure, deadline-orientated environment

What Is Required
- Current enrollment in a graduate degree program in public policy, public administration, or public health required
- Strong writing, editing, analytical, and research skills with a focus on details
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrably quick study and independent, inquisitive learner
- Flexible work approach: must be able to work productively in a team environment, as well as under minimal supervision
