SUMMARY:

The Grants Coordinator supports the organization’s grant efforts by assisting with research, proposal development, reporting, and administrative coordination. This role is ideal for an early career professional interested in building a career in nonprofit fundraising and grants management.

Working closely with the Director of Grants & Impact, the Grants Coordinator will help maintain organized grant systems, track deadlines, and contribute to the development of proposals and reports. Over time, this role will grow to manage a portfolio of grants (primarily $20,000 and below), taking on increasing responsibility for the preparation and submission of proposals and reports with oversight.

This position collaborates across departments to gather program information and plays a key role in supporting the organization’s funding strategy and overall grant success.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:   

  • Research and identify prospective grant opportunities, including private, corporate, and government funding sources, and assess alignment with organizational programs and priorities
  • Support the preparation of grant proposals and reports, including drafting sections, gathering required documentation, and coordinating internal input
  • Manage a portfolio of grants (primarily ~$20,000 and below), including preparing and submitting proposals and reports with oversight from the Director of Grants & Impact
  • Track grant deadlines, deliverables, and reporting requirements using the organization’s grant tracking system to ensure timely submission and compliance
  • Maintain accurate and organized grant records, files, and documentation, including data entry in the organization’s database
  • Draft and send grant acknowledgment letters and assist with funder communications as needed
  • Coordinate logistics for grant-related meetings including preparing materials and timely follow-up
  • Collaborate with internal teams to collect program data, outcomes, and other information needed for proposals and reports
  • Attend occasional off-site meetings, workshops, audits, and community events as needed
  • Provide general administrative support to the External Affairs team as assigned
