As a key member of our Development Team, you will play a vital role in supporting our government and institutional grants portfolio—strengthening current donor relationships, identifying new opportunities, and crafting compelling proposals that drive meaningful, long-term impact. If you are driven, detail-oriented, and motivated by mission-centered work, we’d love to meet you.

What You’ll Do

Planning & Strategy

Prospect Research

  • Conduct targeted research to identify new institutional funders, focusing on government agencies and foundations, while expanding into private-sector and individual funders.
  • Help cultivate a strong network of potential supporters through outreach, meetings, presentations, and site visits.

Grant Writing

  • Draft concept notes and proposals across organizational initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with programs, finance, operations, and development teams to craft persuasive, well-aligned funding requests.
  • Ensure project designs meet funder guidelines and accurately reflect organizational goals.
  • Gather information from relevant staff to ensure timely, high-quality submissions.
  • Maintain and improve systems to capture and reuse proposal language efficiently.

Grant Support

  • Work with Finance, Operations, and others on grantor-led audits.
  • Participate in regular staff and development meetings.
  • Build strong knowledge of Love146’s programming to ensure funding requests accurately reflect our work and needs.
  • Support grant reporting and compliance as needed.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development related to trafficking, grant writing, and nonprofit fundraising.

Data Integrity

  • Ensure Salesforce CRM records are accurate, up-to-date, and complete for all grants.
  • Assist in maintaining documentation of funder interactions and requirements.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, English, Social Work, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of grant writing and/or grant-funded program experience; U.S. Government grant experience is strongly preferred.
  • Proven success securing or renewing grant funding.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading abilities.
  • Strong project management, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Familiarity with grant budgets and programmatic reporting.
  • Experience with relational databases; Salesforce preferred.

  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Paid month-long sabbatical after 5 years of continuous employment
  • Employee-funded benefits: voluntary vision, voluntary dental, voluntary long-term disability, voluntary short-term disability, 403(b) plan
