Pathway Homes is a private, nonprofit striving to end homelessness by providing housing and services for adults with mental illness and other co-occurring disorders in Northern Virginia, DC and Central Florida.
We are seeking a highly compassionate and motivated individuals to join our team in the role of part-time Housing Specialist.
This position is responsible for assisting individuals with a history of homelessness to safely transition into and maintain permanent supportive housing.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Successful candidates for this position will use a unique combination of skills in support of individuals maintaining successful housing by meeting leasing, community, and tenancy requirements.
- Will assist with engaging individuals at various stages of change through outreach, and provision of targeted housing supports
- Will collaboration with case management and clinical teams.
- Will provide targeted supports provided may include, assisting tenants during the move-in and lease signing process; conducting monthly unit inspections; and assisting tenants with completion of leases and income certification.
- Responsible for developing and implementing housing stabilization plans and providing housing-related trainings and support as needed.
Schedule/Location:
Part-Time (20 hrs/wk): Monday - Friday specific days/hours to be determined as part of the interview. Scattered sites in Northern Virginia.
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree, basic knowledge of Fair Housing Law and landlord/tenant rights and responsibilities, ability to travel, sometimes daily, in local (Northern Virginia) area. Proficiency in MS Office application, a valid current driver’s license and own dependable vehicle are also required. Must be able to pass a background check and a driving record check.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference is given to candidates with experience locating and/or leasing units for individuals with disabilities, and/or experience working with individuals with serious mental illnesses and/or substance use disorders or other disabilities.
