Position Summary

The Annie E. Casey Foundation’s paid, twelve-week summer program is designed to provide interns with engaging, challenging project-based assignments, cross-team exposure and learning opportunities in a mission-driven environment, working to support their assigned team as well as on a group project with each other. The program will run from June 1–Aug. 21, 2026.

The Foundation is offering an internship to work with its Atlanta Civic Site team, reporting to the director.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with developing a youth leadership framework to guide Foundation strategies and investments.
  • Provide programmatic and administrative support to the team, including coordinating meetings, preparing materials and various follow-up tasks
  • Conduct research and gather data related to community initiatives, policy priorities and partner organizations.
  • Assist with developing communications materials such as briefings, presentations, summaries, memos, talking points or updates for internal and external stakeholders, partnering with the team’s communications liaison as appropriate.
  • Support logistics and documentation for community meetings, convenings and events.
  • Collaborate with staff across the Foundation as appropriate to support cross-team initiatives
  • Perform duties as assigned in support of the Atlanta Civic Site's goals..

Qualifications

  • Qualified candidates should be enrolled in a post-secondary associate or bachelor’s college or university program, preferably junior or senior standing. Or, a graduate program.
  • Students majoring in public policy, social science, nonprofit management, urban studies or a related field to apply.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Research and analytical skills, including the ability to synthesize information clearly and concisely
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Comfort using virtual meeting platforms and collaboration tools
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Professional judgment, discretion and a high level of reliability

Tools and Equipment Used

Telephone, copiers, computer with Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Zoom

Physical Demand/Workplace Environment

The work will be performed in a hybrid setting based in Atlanta, GA. 

Compensation

This is a temporary position compensated at a rate of $19 to $25 hourly, up to 40 hours per week.
