Job Description
Senator Klobuchar offers spring, summer, and fall internship positions on the Agriculture Committee to qualified candidates. The program is an opportunity for motivated undergraduates, graduate students, and recent graduates to contribute to a fast paced Senate committee. Successful candidates have a strong academic record; a demonstrated interest in agriculture, nutrition, forestry, energy, trade, or environmental issues; and an excellent work ethic.
Interns are exposed to all areas of Committee jurisdiction. Intern responsibilities vary greatly and range from assisting with administrative and office duties to working with the legislative staff. Specific tasks might include assisting with phones, preparing for hearings, attending briefings, drafting policy memos, and conducting research projects. Committee interns work closely with intern coordinators to gain a firsthand look into the legislative and political processes on the Hill.
Interested applicants should fill out the form on the Committee's website (https://www.agriculture.senate.gov/about/internships/democratic) and submit their resume, cover letter, and two references to Internship_Democratic@ag.senate.gov. Applications for Spring 2026 internships are due by COB on Friday, November 7, 2025.
