Legislative Intern

Representative Kevin Mullin (CA-15) is accepting applications for paid, part-time internships in his Washington, D.C. office for the spring. 

The ideal candidate will have excellent written and oral communications skills, interest in the legislative process, resourcefulness, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment. Ties to the Bay Area or California are preferred, but not required. 

Internships are in-person and run for roughly 4 months. Interns typically work three days per week, part-time, with flexibility to accommodate class schedules. Interns in the Washington, D.C. office will be compensated at $15/ hour. Interns in both the San Mateo, CA and Washington, D.C. offices are eligible to receive academic credit.

Responsibilities include answering phones, researching legislative issues, drafting constituent correspondence, attending policy briefings and hearings, recommending legislation to the Representative, and other tasks as assigned. To apply, please visit https://kevinmullin.house.gov/services/internships/ and submit a resume, cover letter, and one page writing sample as one PDF.
