Position Summary 

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Annual & Digital Giving, the Manager of Annual Giving - Direct Response will support the management and the day-to-day functions, as well as the annual and seasonal planning of GBFBs direct response program. This role serves as traffic manager for GBFB’s robust direct mail program from concept development through execution, supporting GBFB’s annual fundraising campaigns under the supervision of the AVP of Annual and Digital Giving. 

This role provides an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in fundraising that will support GBFB’s mission to end hunger here. As well as the opportunity to collaborate across business functions to meet this objective. 

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support the Director of Annual & Digital Giving Operations in the management and execution of the direct marketing program, including:
  • Supporting the Manager of Annual Giving - Digital Giving.
  • Collaborate with Advancement Operations and Systems team and Digital Marketing Manager on activity/campaign tracking including development of appeal codes, tracking URLs, and donation pages for print and digital fundraising. 
  • Support the management of audience strategy and print/production logistics for the Harvest newsletter.
  • Collaborate with the Communications team on the planning of resource gathering trips (client stories and content), in support of the direct marketing program and aligning program content across communication channels.
  • Working closely with the AVP of Annual & Digital Giving, the Manager of Annual Giving, and the Donor Relations team manage the stewardship and retention of Harvest Circle.
  • Assist the Manager of Digital Giving with direct marketing email development and deployment to create consistency across all annual giving channels.
  • Assist the AVP of Annual & Digital Giving to grow, cultivate, and steward GBFB’s Sustainers program (recurring giving).
  • Collaborate with the Manager of Digital Giving on performance reporting, leading functional area reporting responsibilities with oversight from the Director of Annual & Digital Giving Operations.
  • Maintain an accurate calendar of Annual & Digital Giving communication efforts by providing key dates and information on direct mail fundraising activity. 
  • Collaborate with the Advancement Operations team to fulfill quarterly and annual Feeding America reporting requirements.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for key functions and activities of the direct response program and other marketing team processes.
  • Oversee the Annual & Digital Giving SharePoint sites, ensuring maintenance and organization of important files, documentation and assets that support the team’s work.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of related experience, with experience in direct response fundraising in a non-profit setting a plus. 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with writing and editing for multiple channels (print, email, advertising).
  • Proficiency in Office 365 suite.
  • Strong organizational, project management, prioritization skills, and attention to detail required.
  • Experience with HTML, email marketing and CRM software preferred.
  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions.
  • Ability to build and foster relationships across business functions.
  • Genuine appreciation of GBFB’s mission and the ability to communicate it.
  • Demonstrates the required digital competencies that result in the effective usage of the full range of digital technologies at GBFB.

Work Location

  • Hybrid: This role follows a hybrid schedule working in accordance with GBFB’s hybrid work policy on the team’s designated days. This schedule is subject to change based on the organization’s mission to end hunger.
