Position Overview:

We are seeking a creative and driven (Marketing and Communications Coordinator) to join our team in 2025. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies, creating compelling content, and managing communication efforts to raise awareness of JHI's mission, impact, and fundraising campaigns. The ideal candidate is a talented storyteller with a passion for social impact and experience in digital marketing, content creation, and brand communication.

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing Strategy and Execution:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy to increase JHI's visibility and support fundraising efforts.
  • Create, manage, and update content for JHI’s website, social media channels, newsletters, and other communication platforms.
  • Design and execute marketing campaigns that highlight JHI's mission, patient stories, partnerships, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics to optimize campaigns and achieve engagement goals.

Content Creation and Management:

  • Develop engaging content, including blog posts, articles, newsletters, press releases, videos, infographics, and social media posts, to effectively communicate JHI’s mission and impact.
  • Coordinate with photographers, videographers, and graphic designers to produce high-quality visual content that supports JHI's brand and messaging.
  • Maintain a content calendar to ensure consistent and timely delivery of marketing and communication materials.

Brand Management and Communications:

  • Ensure that all marketing materials, communications, and campaigns align with JHI's brand identity, values, and messaging.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance JHI’s online presence and grow our audience across social media platforms.
  • Engage with followers, supporters, and partners on social media to foster community and support for JHI’s mission.
  • Assist in writing, editing, and proofreading materials for accuracy, consistency, and brand alignment.

Public Relations and Media Outreach:

  • Identify and pursue opportunities for media coverage, including press releases, feature stories, interviews, and partnerships with media outlets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with journalists, influencers, and media contacts to increase visibility for JHI's work.
  • Assist in organizing events, webinars, and other outreach activities to raise awareness and engage potential supporters.

Collaboration and Reporting:

  • Work closely with JHI's leadership, fundraising team, and program staff to ensure cohesive messaging and integrated marketing efforts.
  • Track and report on marketing and communication activities, analyzing results and providing insights to improve future campaigns.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging opportunities in nonprofit marketing and communications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing, communications, social media management, or a similar role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and stories.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms, content management systems (e.g., WordPress), and email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp).
  • Experience with graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) and video editing is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing strategies, SEO, and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social media analytics).
  • Passion for JHI's mission and a genuine interest in global health and healthcare access.

Additional Requirements:

  • Availability for occasional travel, primarily within the Boston area, to attend events and meetings.
  • Experience in nonprofit marketing, healthcare communication, or global health outreach is an advantage.
