We are seeking a Marketing Operations Manager to join our team to play a critical role in driving our marketing operations and strategy, working closely with our Director of Marketing and Communications and other stakeholders to develop, execute, and analyze campaigns that engage and inspire our audience of local and national creative writers. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day marketing operations, analyzing customer insights and trends, and creating recommendations for future campaign development and go-to-market strategies. The ideal candidate will be an experienced marketer with a passion for storytelling, a strong track record of driving results, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

Operations & Management (70%)

  • Manage all aspects of marketing operations
  • Act as liaison for day-to-day marketing management for marketing workload, assigning and triaging requests, and establishing priorities to ensure the team meets deadlines and delivers assets as needed
  • Lead stand-ups and regular departmental project meetings, and actively participate in marketing brainstorms around promotional efforts
  • Establish and document processes and procedures and help centralize resources and assets for ease of access
  • Create, maintain, and conduct analytics reporting across multiple platforms and create recommendations around key insights for future campaign development and go-to-market strategies
  • Manage day-to-day administration for promotional schedule, including email, website, and paid advertisements
  • Measure and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight and assess against goals
  • Maintain marketing budget, acquisition costs, and AMEX tracking
  • Manage content and updates for GrubStreet blog and blog contributors

Creative (30%) 

  • With Director of Marketing and Communications, help develop creative briefs and guide creative direction to meet objectives for all marketing and public-­facing communications, including print, digital, and video assets
  • Write copy for promotional emails and edit departmental emails to adhere to brand guidelines
  • Ad-hoc Marketing projects


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing operations or a related field
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Experience in marketing analytics and data analysis
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively with different teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. 
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify and correct errors in data and content
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute tactically to achieve organizational goals
  • Passion for innovation and keeping up with the latest marketing trends and technologies
  • Familiarity with budget management and reporting tools, such as Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel.

 

Position Details

GrubStreet is an equal opportunity employer. We provide a competitive salary and benefits package and a dynamic, collaborative work environment. The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $60,000, commensurate with experience.

Position Reports to: Director of Marketing & Communications

Location: Boston (Hybrid) with option for working remotely 2-3 days/week
