Position Description

ZemiTek is seeking a Mid-Program Specialist to provide administrative and programmatic support and expertise to the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Bureau for Asia's Office of Strategic Planning and Operations (Asia/SPO). The position reports to the Office Director. The start date is immediate.

Location: Washington, D.C.

Work Schedule: Hybrid (2-3 days)

Salary Range: Starting at $80,000 

Clearance: Active secret level clearance Required

Responsibilities

As a Mid-Program Specialist, you will directly support the Director of Bureau for Asia/SPO through the following duties:

• Assist the Director in managing Office work streams/taskers, and logistical support for Office/staff management.

• Manage official memorandum for the Office, and official files.

• Manage and schedule official meetings and visits; help organize special events.

• Provide program management systems and knowledge management including tracking field mission needs and support requests.

• Help manage USAID Asia project/program tracking, data analysis, and documentation.

• Support strategy and programming in Asia:

• Work on discrete complex assignments (data analysis, writing assessments, drafting concept notes, etc.) where independent action and decision-making is needed.

• Assist program analysts, if needed, with researching and drafting the analysis and synthesis of information and provide time-critical oral and written reports and updates.

• Support program analysts, as needed, to schedule strategy discussions and meetings with missions, within the Asia Bureau, and with other Bureaus and Operating Units.

• Work with program analysts and missions to prepare and edit strategy documents to meet posting requirements.

• Provide support and liaise with relevant parties on tasks related to international development planning and programming: develop briefings, internal presentations, meetings, memorandum, emails, and letters that seek approval or request information relating to program matters.

• Coordinate the development and support the Asia Bureau operating unit's portfolio planning and review, including support for annual reporting

• Be responsive and proactive in support of the technical and programmatic needs of the Asia Bureau Program Office and Asia Missions.

• Backstop the other Office program specialist as needed.

Qualifications

• Active secret-level security clearance will be required.

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and six (6) years of professional experience OR Master’s degree in relevant field and four (4) years of professional experience, preferably related to Asia and/or international development

• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and Google systems

• Experience in the use of applications such as spreadsheets and/or other data management tools.

 Preferred Requirements:

• Knowledge of US Government administrative procedures.

• Experience or knowledge of social science or research methods.

• A team player with the ability to learn quickly, with minimal guidance.
