Job Description
RAPP seeks two New York City Canvassers. The position will include canvassing and community outreach in communities across New York City communities. RAPP’s NYC Canvasser will work closely with RAPP’s NYC Community Organizer and RAPP volunteers.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Support RAPP’s community organizing and base building efforts throughout New York City.
- Engage in door knocking, street outreach, and other forms of community outreach in NYC communities.
- Help grow RAPP’s base of new members in NYC.
- Canvassers will work 20 hours per week
Qualifications
- A passion for and working knowledge of social justice and change
- Demonstrated ability to engage a variety of stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Direct personal experience with the criminal legal system is preferred
- A willingness to work some evenings and weekends
- The person must be a resident of NYC
