Organizer (Full-Time, Contract, 11-Month Campaign) About West Virginians for Energy Freedom West Virginians for Energy Freedom (WV4EF) is a statewide coalition of citizens, community organizations, local businesses, municipalities, and elected officials advocating for energy freedom in West Virginia. We believe West Virginians should have the freedom to invest in—and benefit from—locally owned, renewable, and energy-efficient technologies that strengthen our communities and lower energy costs. About the Position WV4EF is seeking a full-time Organizer (40 hours/week) for an eleven-month campaign. As WV4EF’s Organizer, you will play a key role in building people-powered momentum across the state by organizing and facilitating Community Action Events, cultivating meaningful relationships with supporters, and mobilizing individuals to take action. This role is highly relational and people-centered. The Organizer will engage directly with supporters through one-on-one meetings, identify individuals’ skills and interests, and guide them along personalized pathways for deeper involvement. You will also help educate West Virginians about WV4EF’s mission and the many ways they can participate in shaping a more affordable, reliable, and locally driven energy future. Organizing Strategy Develop and oversee the overall organizing strategy of the coalition and lead weekly internal organizing meetings to ensure the group is effectively working toward campaign goals. Community Action Events Lead the planning and facilitation of Community Action Events designed to educate, inspire, and mobilize supporters to take meaningful action. One-on-One Engagement Conduct personalized 1:1 meetings with Community Action Event attendees and WV4EF supporters to build relationships, understand motivations, and identify opportunities for deeper engagement. Supporter Mobilization Help design and implement strategies to mobilize supporters for advocacy efforts, public participation opportunities, and community outreach initiatives. Identify supporters’ skills, strengths, and interests and connect them to tailored opportunities such as volunteering, leadership roles, or campaign-specific projects. Maintain accurate records of supporter engagement, track participation metrics, canvassing metrics, and use data to assess impact and inform organizing strategies. Travel throughout West Virginia approximately 25–40% of the time to support events, meetings, canvassing with volunteers as needed, and outreach efforts.
