Job Description
The Office of Congressman Herb Conaway (NJ-03) seeks to hire a full-time Outreach Coordinator for the District Office.
The Outreach Coordinator plays a key role in the District Office by aligning community engagement and public-facing initiatives with the strategic goals of the Congressman and the
District Director. The Outreach Coordinator serves as a senior liaison to community
stakeholders, government agencies, and constituents, while representing the Member at events and public engagements across the district.
The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that district priorities are effectively
communicated to the Washington, D.C. legislative team and reflected in policy development.
The role includes building and sustaining coalitions with local leaders, tracking emerging issues, and coordinating outreach strategy. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal and organizational skills, political acumen, and a deep commitment to constituent service.
As this is a first-term Member office, we are looking for a proactive, solutions-oriented individual who can help build and refine our outreach operations.
Additional responsibilities may include managing community events, representing the Member at public functions, and supporting other office functions as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure all outreach efforts reflect the strategic vision of the Congressman and District
Director
Represent the Member at community events and meetings, as determined by the District
Director
Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, organizations, and
stakeholders
Monitor and report on local developments, trends, and issues relevant to the district
Collaborate with D.C. and District staff to align policy and legislative priorities with
constituent needs
Help develop and execute the Member’s community relations strategy
Qualifications:
Previous experience in outreach, community engagement, or public service strongly preferred
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
Discretion, empathy, and professionalism are essential
