Position Description




Position Overview:
This position develops and analyzes policies and administrative rules; works closely with justice stakeholders to understand impact of analyses. Drafts policy recommendations. Leads policy development, impact analysis and stakeholder engagement of policy area. Uses data and research to drive recommendations. Coordinates with stakeholders to develop and implement pilots and/or program evaluation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develops, evaluates, and distributes written content concerning justice related programs, policies, initiatives, and goals determined by the department or organization.
  • Drafts policy recommendations.
  • Collaborates with data analysts to collect and analyze data to formulate and support program, initiative and policy recommendations.
  • Conducts, assembles, and analyzes data on current legislative, policy, and regulatory reviews and reforms to create memos, briefs, reports, or other deliverables outlining the impact of policies on the organization.
  • Collaborates with justice stakeholders and other internal/external staff to review the effectiveness and efficiency of policies; identifies area(s) of improvement and provides recommendations to
  • division management.
  • Serves as subject matter expert and leads portfolio area, providing policy guidance and support.
  • Attends and contributes to policy and other related meetings.

Requirements

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in a directly related field from an accredited college or university and
  • Three (3) years of directly related experience.
OR
  • Associate's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and
  • Five (5) years of directly related work experience.
OR
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from an accredited educational institution and
  • Seven (7) years of directly related work experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Highly skilled in written and verbal communication.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal government operations, including legislation, budget, and policy development.
  • Ability to perform highly skilled research and policy analysis.
  • Ability to take complex issues and quickly communicate them succinctly and professionally.
  • Ability to effectively deliver and communicate information in various settings and to a diverse audience.
  • Ability to apply logic and critical thinking to evaluate issues and approaches, identify strengths and weaknesses, and offer options and solutions.
  • Ability to work in and facilitate cross-functional team.

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:
  • Regular Full-time
  • Monday - Friday | 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
Salary:
  • Max: $83,500 Annually
  • Depends on Qualifications
  • Based on 26 Pay Periods

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
  • This job operates in a hybrid work environment.
  • This role has minimal physical demands.
Reports To Position: Justice Innovation Manager
Supervises Positions: N/A

Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.
