The Corporate Responsibility (CR) department is responsible for the development and implementation of the firm's CR agenda and initiatives. We do this by crafting goals, policies and initiatives that align with and support the firm's business strategies and operational objectives and support the communities where we do business. The CR department is made up of more than 350 purpose-driven leaders with a commitment to advancing positive social impact. The department includes: Global Philanthropy, Global Government Relations, Research & Policy (JPMorgan Chase Institute and Policy Center), and Sustainable Finance.
The JPMorgan Chase Policy Center develops and advances sustainable, evidence-based policy solutions to drive inclusive economic growth in the U.S. and around the world. Our team's work is powered by the firm's global business resources and expertise, including data, research, talent and philanthropic investments. The Policy Center works with policymakers, business leaders, and community advocates to drive effective solutions at all levels of government and across the private sector. Our current areas of focus include: improving financial health and access, shaping local economic development, advancing jobs and skills, ensuring housing market affordability, strengthening the economic security net, promoting small business growth, and unlocking opportunities for individuals with criminal records (\"Second Chance\").
Position Overview
The Policy Center seeks to fill the role of a Public Policy Graduate Intern located in its Washington, D.C. office. This individual will partner with Policy Center members at a critical time in the team's strategic growth and evolution to advance public policy initiatives. They will assist in the execution of research, development, and outreach of policy proposals and strategies that drive inclusive economic growth. The Public Policy Graduate Intern will report to one or more Policy Center Lead(s).
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To, The Following
- Shape and inform Policy Center strategies by analyzing research aligned to priority initiatives.
- Enhance policy proposals and planning through active monitoring of legislative and regulatory actions.
- Contribute to success of internal and external decision-making, outreach, and engagement through materials and logistics preparation and program support.
- Create and edit team work products, including presentations, policy briefs, memos, etc.
- Execute other special projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Team player mindset with the ability and organization to multitask and help colleagues as needed
- Demonstrated experience juggling multiple responsibilities and meeting team deadlines
- Experience in policy, economics, government relations, political science, and/or communications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Enrolled in a Master's program at an accredited academic institution
