The Commission works to eliminate inequities in state laws and practices that affect women and girls in various areas such as health, safety, employment, education, and representation. Through research, policy development, education, advocacy, and collaboration, the Commission strives to promote equality and justice for all.
Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Policy and Legislation Director located in Sacramento, CA. The Director will be responsible for advocating on behalf of women and girls with the Governor, the Legislature, and other public policymakers. Day-to-day tasks include research, policy development, program development, advocacy, and strategic partnerships to address key issues affecting women and girls.
Qualifications
Policy Development, Legislation Analysis, and Advocacy skills
Research and Data Analysis skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
Strong understanding of gender equity issues
Experience working in government or advocacy organizations
Experience in working with state legislators and policymakers
