Job Description And Duties

Remote-Centered

Teleworking employees may be required to report to their headquarters office location on designated telework days. Travel expenses are not reimbursed, however, other authorized transit subsidies do exist for those who qualify.

The California Department of Insurance's (Department) Policy & Legislation Branch seeks a highly motivated Policy & Stakeholder Engagement Manager, or Staff Services Manager I (Specialist) to join the nationally-recognized Insurance Diversity Initiative (Initiative) with a mission to increase procurement from diverse business enterprises (DBE or "diverse suppliers") and advance governing board diversity among insurance companies within California's $413 billion insurance industry.

Under the general direction of the Director of the Insurance Diversity Initiative, the Policy & Stakeholder Engagement Manager or incumbent, serves as a subject matter expert and assists in leading policies & programming of the Insurance Diversity Initiative, including the administration, analysis, tracking, and publication of insurance diversity data calls; the Commissioner-appointed Insurance Diversity Task Force; policy research & analysis; and other related administrative, communications, and external functions regarding the Insurance Diversity Initiative.

The incumbent will take initiative to lead, streamline and analyze all efforts within the Insurance Diversity Initiative, and will provide leadership, subject matter expertise, oversight, and support of Initiative duties.
