THE OPPORTUNITY
Advancing a critical mission at a critical moment. After two decades of sustained population growth and in the face of historic inflation and skyrocketing property costs, working Coloradans and Colorado communities are struggling with issues of affordability, opportunity, and equity. Under the gold dome of the state Capitol and at the ballot box, there are competing visions for how Colorado should respond to these challenges. This is a critical moment to fight for policies that create a fairer Colorado - a place where everyone can succeed. The Bell does just that.
Building from a position of strength. Over the past several years, under the thoughtful leadership of its outgoing President, the Bell has grown in both size and impact - expanding from its origins as a policy think tank into a leading advocacy and research organization focused on economic mobility. Today, the staff is stable and strong, and the board is engaged – both are committed to the success of the organization and its next leader. As part of a thoughtful and planned transition from its current President, the next leader of the Bell will be tasked with building on this positive momentum and taking the organization to its next level of impact.
Looking for a strategic, collaborative leader with deep roots in Colorado’s policy world. Given Colorado’s unique fiscal and policy landscape and the challenging political climate we’re currently navigating, we seek an experienced leader who will bring energy, creativity and passion to the position and to this work. We seek a forward-thinking approach to partnerships, policy, advocacy, funding, and operations – someone who can envision a future different from where we are today, while holding the responsibility of executing the steps to achieve that vision.
THE ADMINISTRATIVE DETAILS
The annual base salary for this position is $160,000. This position is based in Colorado and significant in-person work at the Bell’s offices and with stakeholders and partners in Denver and Colorado will be required.
The President/CEO works for both the Bell Policy Center and its affiliate the Bell Action Network, though the vast majority of work is for the Bell Policy Center.
Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance (70% paid by employer); life and disability insurance (100% paid by employer); a 401k retirement program with a match after three months of service; and a flexible work schedule, in addition to paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, and family and medical leave.
