Senior Democratic Senator seeks an Upstate Press Secretary based in Washington D.C. to manage and coordinate communications for all of Upstate New York. In addition to coordinating and developing statewide media strategy, the Upstate Press Secretary will serve as an on-the-record spokesperson, be responsible for all press contact in several major urban media markets and rural areas, draft press releases and op-eds, manage conference calls, and engage reporters, columnists, editors and producers as well as respond to media inquiries on a range of issues. The position requires outstanding oral communication, creative thinking, and writing skills, as well as the ability to produce quality work under pressure and in an extremely fast-paced environment.
