About AAIR

The Foundation for Asthma and Allergy Impact and Rescue (AAIR) is a national nonprofit organization focused on improving outcomes for children and families living with asthma and allergies. AAIR's mission is built around three pillars: Rescued at School, Healthy at Home, and Connected to Care. AAIR operates the nation's largest school-based stock albuterol initiative and partners with schools, health systems, policymakers, and communities to improve access to care and reduce preventable emergencies.


Position Overview

This position serves as AAIR's senior Illinois-based leader responsible for statewide implementation, growth, sustainability, stakeholder engagement, funding support, policy coordination, and strategic expansion. The Program Coordinator will ensure Illinois remains AAIR's flagship statewide model and will work closely with school districts, healthcare partners, policymakers, and funders to maximize impact.


Key Responsibilities

Program Execution (60%)

  • Facilitate statewide implementation of RESCUE Illinois.
  • Own relationships with Chicago Public Schools and other major districts.
  • Ensure schools are stocked, trained, reporting, and fully compliant.
  • Monitor participation, utilization, and reporting performance.
  • Coordinate operational planning, forecasting, and program expansion.
  • Support implementation of Healthy at Home and Connection to Care initiatives.

Partnership Development (15%)

  • Build relationships with health systems, Medicaid plans, provider groups, and community organizations.
  • Develop strategic alliances supporting statewide sustainability.
  • Represent AAIR in meetings, conferences, and coalitions.

Policy & Strategy (10%)

  • Support legislative strategy and advocacy efforts.
  • Participate in lobbyist and stakeholder meetings.
  • Help build Illinois Champions and stakeholder networks

Funding & Sustainability (10%)

  • Support grant applications, reports, and stewardship activities.
  • Identify new funding opportunities.
  • Participate in funder meetings and presentations.

Insights & Evaluation (5%)

  • Work closely with evaluation staff on dashboards and outcomes reporting.
  • Analyze utilization trends and develop recommendations.
  • Support ROI and cost-savings analyses.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5+ years of nonprofit, healthcare, education, public health, or related leadership experience
  • Experience managing statewide or multi-site initiatives desired
  • Experience working with schools or healthcare organizations preferred
  • Spanish language proficiency a plus

Salary Range: $64,000-$72,000 annually

Performance Bonus Eligibility:

Eligible for a performance-based bonus, with goals determined annually

  • ~40% Individual Performance
  • ~40% Organizational Performance
  • ~20% Manager Discretion
