About Mouse:
Mouse is a national nonprofit that empowers youth and educators in historically underserved communities to engage with computer science and creative technology. Our programs are funded by Google, AT&T, Verizon and others to help public school students discover new technology and succeed in the digital workforce.
About This Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic NYC-based program coordinator, able to work remotely for now, with extraordinary organization skills, experience in customer communications and tracking, and an interest in education. This individual will collaborate to support a network of 120 teachers at 42 schools around NYC to implement Mouse’s Design League program with their students. Knowledge and comfort using Google Apps tools, online project management systems, and video conferencing tools is preferred.
This role will:
- Plan and deliver individual and mass email communications with teachers;
- Track teacher communications and school progress;
- Schedule individualized coaching sessions between teachers and Mouse trainers;
- Develop positive relationships with teachers through excellent customer service;
- Create systems to support transparency, and the program’s future growth;
- Keep track of and report on school progress using data from teachers and from Mouse’s learning management system
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
This position reports to the Senior Manager, DIIT Design League.
Program Operations and Data
- Manage the collection, organization, and updating of any partner account records
- Maintain comprehensive educator records and produce reports as required
- Maintain and compile data in spreadsheets using formulas in order to produce reports
Stakeholder Relationships and Communication
- Communicate directly with teachers, school administrators and volunteers from industry partners
- Organize and schedule coaching sessions and volunteer opportunities with teachers
- Coordinate the recruitment and placement of a program volunteer network
- Draft and send custom email mail-merges
- Provide support to teachers on using the digital learning platform Mouse Create
- Monitor monthly goals to support educators
- Engage with attendees electronically in advance of professional development
- Foster a safe and welcoming environment; answer questions with respect and openness
Program Events Support
- Support the planning, outreach, and facilitation events, including live and asynchronous events.
- Respond to questions and challenges in the chat area of virtual meetings.
- Coordinate with teachers and administrators at each school to plan and host student project fairs in May.
- Track attendance and manage follow-up communications.
- Draft support materials and resources for PD attendees, including recordings of all events.
Other Projects
- Draft or coordinate resources that support teachers’ implementation of the program, for example: create how-to guides, transcribe videos, etc.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR IN A CANDIDATE
- A commitment to Mouse’s mission and an interest in social justice in education.
- You’re a stellar communicator – both written and verbal.
- You have excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, including the capacity to coordinate details, multi-task and generate creative solutions.
- Highly organized with excellent project management and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small or large team.
- Tech skills required: experience with the Google Apps Suite (docs, slides, and sheets), experience using video conferencing tools (like Zoom, Google Meet, etc).
- Tech skills preferred: experience with Slack or other productivity, collaboration and contact management tools, like Salesforce.
- The profile for this position suits individuals with a college degree plus at least two years of related experience. We value alternative pathways to post-secondary education, and will also consider applicants with demonstrated equivalent experience.
