DOROT is headquartered on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and the team works on a hybrid schedule. The Program Coordinator for the Genuine Connections™ Program in the Intergenerational Program Engagement Department will be expected to work in the office 2-3 days per week and as needed.

About the Intergenerational Program Engagement Department
DOROT’s Intergenerational Program Engagement Department (IPE) oversees the agency’s multi-faceted intergenerational program model for families and youth in grades K-12, engaging over 2,500+ youth volunteers each year in meaningful connections with older adults. These programs bridge the generational divide and promote greater understanding and respect between generations. Each of our programs reflects DOROT’s commitment to bringing the generations together to share stories and perspectives, learn and create together and value each other’s contributions.
About GENuine Connections™
GENuine Connections engages hundreds of high school students and volunteers 65+ to participate in a virtual workshop series that includes a wide variety of activities such as: discussing books, creating art, playing games, technology coaching, learning together, engaging in rich discussions, and storytelling, among others. Participants also have the opportunity to participate in shared affinity cohorts around issues such as cultural background, foreign language, LGBTQ+ identity, or other affiliations. Through these workshops, participants connect with individuals who share commonalities and others who are interested in and open to learning. Older adults and teen volunteers share their life experiences, benefit from one another’s wisdom, and come to see each other as assets to be treasured.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled youth professional or educator who has an affinity for education and is looking to make a difference in people’s lives. The Coordinator will implement and maintain GENuine Connections™, a program created to connect teens and adults 65+ volunteers through video-based intergenerational group interactions. The major responsibilities include executing the volunteer recruitment and application process, overseeing teaching artists, supporting participants and the daily administrative needs of managing the digital platform.
The ideal candidate has a proven track record in recruiting volunteers, being a generative thinker and a committed collaborator. They will bring to the job a passion for meaningful engagement that explores values, intergenerational wisdom, and communal responsibility.
Primary Responsibilities
- Be an integral member of the IPE team, contributing to program design, implementation and integrating our core value into all intergenerational activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues in Marketing & Communications and Volunteer Services on volunteer recruitment strategies and execution to secure teen and older adult volunteers.
- Update marketing and outreach templates and resources.
- Lead group interviews and orientations for older adults and teens.
- Manage digital platform content, the participant registration process, opening workshops, creating break-out groups, attendance, and other administrative features of the digital platform.
- Assist older adults in the registration process and those who need additional help to join a workshop on the digital platform.
- Coordinate communications and logistics for teaching artists.
- Oversee and execute internal processes that ensure the timely and targeted collection of metrics and narratives aligned with program goals and grant deliverables.
- Assist in preparing grant reports.

- Administer and monitor program portfolio expenses against the approved budget.
- Collect, track, and maintain information using DOROT’s online database (Salesforce platform); this involves routine data entry and monthly review of statistics for both internal reports and trend analysis.
- Work on special projects and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2+ years of professional experience working in nonprofit programming and/or administration
- Passion for DOROT’s mission
- Experience working with teens; experience working with older adults a plus
- Demonstrated experience in using digital platforms for event management such as a Database or Conferencing software.
- Demonstrated success with program planning and development, project management and participant recruitment and engagement
- Excellent verbal and written communicator with experience in public speaking
- Collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal competencies
- Ability to work independently to solve problems
- Effective at managing multiple time-sensitive projects and balancing competing priorities
- Outstanding organizational skills and ability to follow through to achieve deliverables
- Proficiency with Office 365
- Experience with Salesforce or another database, Canva, and/or MailChimp a plus
- Experience with volunteer management a plus
- Availability to work 5-10 Sundays a year and 5 evening events per year

Candidates can expect a base salary between $52K and $60K_commensurate with experience.
