Reports to: Director of Programs
Status: Part-time/10-15 hours per week (varies weekly)
Position available: February 2025
Location: Creutzburg Center/Hybrid
FUNCTION
Reporting to the Director of Programs, the Program Director is responsible for planning avocational classes for adults in a designated subject area.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
PROGRAM PLANNING
- Collaborates with programming staff to design a balanced portfolio of new and recurring classes.
- Generates and execute innovative class offerings to meet enrollment and revenue targets.
- Monitors consumer and market trends to ensure the relevance and value of MLSN’s class content and pricing.
- Recruits new instructors and manages relationships with current instructors, to fostering class development and expansion.
CATALOG DEVELOPMENT
- Inputs and manages class and instructor information in internal database.
- Writes, edits and proofreads class descriptions for catalogs.
- Adheres to strict timelines for catalog production.
OPERATIONS
- Coordinates with site managers for classroom setup and equipment/technology needs.
- Maintains on-site presence to address instructor and student needs and assess programs.
- Collaborates with the Director of Operations to recruit volunteer assistance, as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- One year of experience in adult education program development and execution preferred.
- Must have strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.Having exceptional written and verbal communication is key to successfully planning and executing the category of classes.
- Must enjoy meeting people and engaging with diverse populations to grow our school and assist with registration and ensuring students can easily get questions answered.
- Must be an effective independent worker and collaborative team member.
- Having established connections within the Main Line area for partnerships and instructor recruitment is a plus.
