About the Role


You'll be a versatile team member doing whatever needs doing at a watchdog organization in growth mode. If you're comfortable switching between different roles to help build something from the ground up, this is the right fit.


Key Responsibilities


  • Contribute to investigative research projects and analysis
  • Write blog posts, social media content, and communications materials
  • Manage volunteer network and coordinate volunteer activities
  • Maintain relationships with coalition partners and allied organizations
  • Support major campaigns and report launches across multiple workstreams
  • Assist with fundraising efforts and grant reporting
  • Handle operational tasks and systems management
  • Provide research support for investigations
  • Fill organizational gaps wherever they appear

  • Strong familiarity with major AI companies, technology risks, policy debates, and safety issues
  • Experience in research, communications, advocacy, nonprofit work, or related fields
  • Strong writing and research abilities
  • Professional communication and project coordination skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Initiative and problem-solving mindset
  • Good judgment about quality standards and priorities

Bonus Qualifications


  • Social media and digital communications experience
  • Volunteer management or community organizing experience
  • Comfort with technology and digital tools
  • Experience across multiple functional areas (research, communications, operations)
  • Background in early-stage or startup environments

Compensation & Benefits


  • $80,000-$130,000 (commensurate with experience)
