Summary

The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Singapore to the United Nations (UN) in New York is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Projects and Research Officer (PRO).

The role combines research, project coordination and event management in support of Singapore's work at the UN. The successful candidate will monitor developments at the UN, support official meetings and visits, and assist in planning and coordinating political programmes and other Mission activities.


Key Responsibilities

Research

  • Conduct research and prepare background materials on UN meetings, resolutions, negotiations and other developments.
  • Monitor developments through UN meetings, conferences and side-events, and prepare reports, file notes and briefings.
  • Track and circulate UN documents, press releases and other information of interest.
  • Maintain research databases and information resources.

Projects, Events and Official Visits

  • Support the planning and execution of official visits, political cultivation programmes, meetings, receptions and other Mission events.
  • Coordinate logistics for meetings and events, including liaison with the UN, government agencies, external organisations and service providers.
  • Prepare programmes, schedules, meeting materials and other administrative support for official engagements.
  • Assist with special projects undertaken by the Mission.

Other Duties

  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Mission or designated authority.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Political Science, Public Policy, Law, Economics, Communications, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in research, policy analysis, project coordination, event management, government, international organisations or related fields.

Job Type

Full-time, on-site role.

Salary

Starting annual salary range of US$59,000–62,000, depending on experience, skills and qualifications.

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday, 9.00 am–5.30 pm (30-minute lunch break)
  • Occasional evening, weekend and overtime work to support official meetings, events and visiting delegations.
