Who We Are | Bluevale Capital
Bluevale Capital is a boutique, real-estate private-equity firm that specializes in value-add, development and special-situation multi-residential projects. Over the past two years, the firm has completed over $200 M of transactions with the intention of creating a $1B+ real-estate fund over the next 2–3 years. By working with government leaders, and by partnering with our sponsors and lenders, the company’s vision is to create 10,000+ residential units with a focus on tackling the affordable-housing crisis in North America.
Public Affairs Associate
Bluevale Capital is seeking a motivated Public Affairs Associate to lead government, community, and stakeholder engagement initiatives across Connecticut. This position will represent Bluevale’s interests with municipal and state agencies, zoning boards, planning bodies, and local business organizations. The role blends public-policy engagement with real-estate development strategy—ideal for a professional passionate about housing accessibility, sustainable development, and civic partnership.
The Public Affairs Associate will work directly with Bluevale’s development leadership to help secure zoning and permitting approvals, strengthen community relations, and build visibility through partnerships with chambers of commerce, major employers, and local organizations.
What You Will Do
  • Represent Bluevale Capital at public hearings, zoning meetings, and community forums.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local and state officials, planning departments, chambers of commerce, and advocacy organizations.
  • Maintain relationships with large employers and community organizations to promote attainable housing and identify potential partnerships supporting workforce housing initiatives.
  • Support zoning, permitting, and land-use initiatives by preparing materials, tracking submissions, and coordinating stakeholder feedback.
  • Attend conferences, public-policy events, and chamber of commerce gatherings to promote Bluevale’s mission and expand partnerships.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments relevant to housing, real-estate investment, and urban planning in Connecticut.
  • Draft public-facing communications, briefing memos, and outreach summaries for internal and external use.
  • Collaborate with internal development, legal, and operations teams to align public-affairs activities with project milestones.
  • Contribute to thought-leadership, sponsorship, and local advocacy initiatives advancing attainable housing and sustainable growth.
What We’re Looking For
  • 1–10 years of experience in community engagement, public policy, planning, government relations, or chamber-of-commerce operations.
  • Current or recent employment in Connecticut within a planning, policy, or civic-engagement function.
  • Strong understanding of municipal and state government structures, permitting, and zoning processes.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; comfortable representing the firm in public settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop partnerships, manage stakeholders, and navigate complex policy environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master of Public Administration (MPA) or equivalent preferred.
  • Must have grown up in Connecticut and possess deep familiarity with the state’s municipal landscape and economic ecosystem.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Performance-based annual bonus.
  • Benefits package.
  • Travel reimbursement for community meetings, conferences, and events.
  • Professional development and conference participation support.
  • Hybrid work flexibility with regular in-person attendance at key meetings and stakeholder engagements.
