Public Relations Director – Israel Government Tourist Office in Atlanta (Southern Region)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Israel Ministry of Tourism is seeking a Public Relations Director for the Southern region, based in Atlanta, GA.

The Israel Government Tourist Office in Atlanta promotes tourism to Israel in 11 Southern states (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with journalists and influencers, including faith-based media (Jewish and Christian).
  • Liaise with PR company – ongoing follow-up.
  • Press trips – initiating and managing hosting, follow-up on guests and host products, all in collaboration with local PR Company and head-office.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with airlines and travel industry PR teams.
  • Initiating, organizing, and executing media events.
  • Initiating and managing all aspects of content collaboration projects.
  • Serving as a spokesperson for the office or the director when needed – preparing points for written and TV interviews, podcasts, and pitching new interviews.
  • Representing the office at media events, travel industry and faith-based events (Jewish and Christian) if needed.
  • Content creating and editing (mainly press releases).
  • Preparing monthly reports.
  • Preparing monthly newsletters for the industry.
  • Monitoring relevant news and info.
  • Work on professional and administrative documents.

REQUIREMENTS:

At least 3 years experience in a similar position.

The successful candidate must have a good knowledge of the Southern region media landscape. The successful candidate must be a team player and must have excellent writing skills.

The candidate must be able to execute tasks efficiently in dynamic situations and be able to juggle multiple tasks at once.

An excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite is expected. Good knowledge of AI tools is a plus.

Candidates will be selected on writing and demonstrated interpersonal skills, previous relevant work experience, multi-tasking abilities, and his/her aptitude to work with many diverse groups/stakeholders.

  • US Citizenship (no Israeli citizenship)
  • Office located in Atlanta, GA
  • Full time
  • Willingness to travel in regional states (~10%) + opportunities for international missions.

Starting yearly salary $75K-$88K, depending on past experience.
