Job Description
The Department of Epidemiology at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health seeks a Project Coordinator to assist in the coordination of an NIH funded community-based intervention study providing childcare and fitness classes to underserved mothers. The study uses mixed methods to test the effectiveness of an intervention co-designed with mothers for mothers. The incumbent will report to the Principal Investigator and will coordinate study implementation activities that involve interacting with community organizations, participants, community champions, and an international study team, contribute to qualitative and quantitative data collection and database management, reporting of results, and oversee logistical tasks (e.g. Human Subjects approval) necessary to accomplish the aims and needs of grant-funded research. Additionally, there are opportunities to analyze data and contribute to manuscript writing.
Responsibilities
- Monitor achievement of grant implementation milestones, coordinate team activities, manage Community Advisory Board preparation, oversee interns, and lead and create agendas for meetings - 10%
- Prepare documents related to research activities, including funding agency reports, study protocols, Data Use Agreements and other data governance, and IRB submissions – 10%
- Participate in recruitment of study participants and administration of surveys/other study instruments; – 40%
- Collect and record study data and develop study database/tracking- 10%
- Maintain databases, source documents (surveys, consent, interest forms) and other study-related files - 10%
- Administrative Support (e.g. supply purchasing, expenses, interface with divisional grant team)- 10%
- Participate in and take the lead on drafting and disseminating public-facing research findings (e.g., one-pagers, infographics, blog posts, websites, etc). – 5%
- Perform other related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested - 5%
