The Office of Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) is seeking a Scheduler or Deputy Director of Scheduling to play a critical role in the Senator’s scheduling department. This person will report to the Director of Scheduling and work closely with the Senator and senior staff. Successful candidates will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, have strong written and oral communication skills, collaborate well across all departments, and exercise discretion and independent judgement in the performance of their duties.

Primary responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing incoming requests for the Senator’s time, making scheduling recommendations, and facilitating decision points for senior staff and the Senator in a timely manner.
  • Drafting the Senator’s daily schedule and working closely with the Director of Scheduling and Special Assistants to execute each day’s schedule.
  • Drafting short-term schedules for feedback and guidance from the Director of Scheduling.
  • Contributing to the tracking of long-term scheduling requests, including California, national, and international travel.
  • Coordinating all aspects of the Senator’s meetings, including but not limited to room reservations, staffing, and materials.
  • Staffing the Senator in meetings, calls, and travel, as required.
  • Tracking incoming requests from the Senator and ensuring appropriate follow-up across teams.
  • Managing and booking the Senator’s travel logistics and details.
  • Managing the daily work of a scheduling intern.

This is not an entry-level position. Candidates should have at least 2-5 years of scheduling experience, and previous congressional, campaign, and/or executive branch scheduling experience is preferred. Individuals applying for this position should be prepared to have flexible work hours and be able to adapt to a fast-paced and constantly changing environment. California ties are preferred.

This is a full-time in-person position based in the Washington, D.C. office. Title and salary are commensurate with experience. This position is eligible for all Senate employee benefits.
