Position Title: Seasonal Coordinator, Art & Exhibitions
Department: Interpretation/Exhibitions
Reports to: Director of Interpretation and Exhibitions
FLSA Status: Part-time Seasonal, Nonexempt
Compensation: $35 per hour
Schedule: 25–30 hours a week, May–November 2025

Position Overview:
Brooklyn Botanic Garden is launching an art fellowship that will work with artists and environmental thinkers to create science-based, site-specific artwork through an 18-month fellowship. Fostering co-creation and collaboration among artists and environmental thinkers and displaying their work, the project deepens the Garden’s connection to science and inspires an appreciation and sense of stewardship of the environment. To carry this out, BBG is looking for a detail-oriented Art & Science Fellowship coordinator to join our team on a part-time basis. This position will also coordinate and implement other art exhibitions at BBG.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and manage an RFP process and tracking system.
- Liaise between artists and the Garden (various departments).
- Manage daily administrative tasks such as email correspondence, scheduling, etc.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations.
- Support the team with project coordination and follow-up.
- Assist with drafting and/or editing exhibition materials (e.g., interpretive labels, checklists, and guides).
- Establish effect communication systems with BBG staff and artists.
- Assist with planning for and execution of installation.
Qualifications:
- Four years’ related career experience preferred (work with artists and project management)
- Superior organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- Comfort with deadline-driven work
- Ability to multitask
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Flexibility and sense of humor a must
