National Grid Ventures is hiring a Senior Analyst, Regulatory Policy and Strategy. This is a hybrid role and the location of the position can be in Brooklyn, NY, Albany NY, or Boston, MA
Job Purpose
National Grid Ventures (NGV) is at the forefront of the energy transition. We’re helping to accelerate society’s drive towards net zero while maintaining security of supply today. This role is focused on NGV’s US Northeast business (NGV US NE).
The Senior Analyst will support the Manager of Regulatory Delivery and Strategy in the NGV US NE Commercial organization. The Regulatory Delivery and Strategy team is responsible for the analysis and policy engagement discussions to deliver a regulatory strategy that advances current and future opportunities.

This role is a unique opportunity to work with a highly dynamic, commercially driven team; to interact with and influence C-suite level decisions makers; and identify and solve complex challenges facing large-scale energy developments. The role will include frequent collaboration and coordination with the National Grid Government Affairs teams and requires the ability to identify key issues that could impact NGV US NE strategy. The current focus encompasses competitive transmission (including in support of offshore wind), Long Island generation assets, energy storage, and hydrogen.
Key Accountabilities
- Project manage monitoring and tracking of relevant activities at NYISO, ISO-NE and PJM
- Support and advise teams engaged in development of transmission, offshore wind, and long-term management of NGV’s Long Island generation assets
- Develop policy trackers, prepare summaries of policy options and positions, and manage collection and presentation of supporting data
- Represent NGV US NE in meetings and report on policy developments
- Collaborate with diverse groups within National Grid to ensure awareness of NGV projects and internal alignment on policy positions
- Contribute to business proposition preparation and strategic policy planning
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree a plus) and at least 5 years of relevant experience
- Detail-oriented, independent self-starter, quick-learner, and analytical
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of U.S. energy policy and energy market policies, especially in the Northeast (New England and mid-Atlantic)
- Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with RTO functions and/or FERC a plus

Upstate NY $88,000 - $103,000 a year
New England MA $99,000 - $116,000 a year
