Job Description
The American Chiropractic Association (ACA) is seeking an experienced, highly organized and relationship-oriented association professional to serve as the Senior Manager of Association Services for two state-level managed associations.
This is a hands-on association management position. While the role includes board governance and organizational oversight, the primary responsibility is managing the day-to-day operations of two state associations and delivering an exceptional experience for members and volunteer leaders.
The Senior Manager is the primary point of contact for members, volunteer leaders and vendors. The position entails responding to member needs, coordinating programs and events, managing communications, overseeing administrative and financial activities and preparing for board and committee meetings. This is a fully remote position.
The ideal candidate is customer-focused, highly organized, responsive and skilled at building trust and strong relationships. The Senior Manager will manage multiple priorities simultaneously and work independently. The position will be supported by ACA's finance, human resources, membership, communications and technology teams.
Key Responsibilities
Day-to-Day Association Management & Member Service
- Serve as the primary staff contact for members, volunteer leaders and vendors.
- Manage the daily operations of two state associations, ensuring deadlines, and deliverables are met and members are responded to efficiently.
- Maintain accurate membership, organizational and program information in association management systems.
- Coordinate with ACA's national departments to leverage their expertise and resources on behalf of the state associations.
Volunteer & Board Relations
- Serve as the primary staff liaison to two state boards and their committees.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with volunteer leaders.
- Prepare agendas, meeting materials, reports and other information for board and committee meetings.
- Facilitate meetings and ensure timely follow-up on decisions and action items.
Membership & Engagement
- Manage the member experience from recruitment and onboarding through engagement, renewal and retention.
- Work with ACA's national membership team to implement recruitment, renewal and retention initiatives tailored to each state association.
- Monitor membership activity and identify opportunities to increase engagement.
- Prepare regular membership and association performance reports for leadership.
Communications & Member Engagement
- Serve as a key voice for the state associations, ensuring members receive timely, relevant and useful information.
- Coordinate newsletters, email communications, website updates and social media activity.
- Work with ACA's communications team to develop content and ensure consistent, professional messaging.
- Communicate effectively with members and volunteer leaders through email, phone and virtual meetings.
Events & Educational Programs
- Plan and execute meetings, educational programs, webinars and other member events.
- Coordinate speakers, vendors, contracts, registration, continuing education requirements and other event details.
- Manage event timelines and logistics from planning through completion.
- Work with volunteers and subject matter experts to develop programs.
- Attend and support events as needed.
Financial & Administrative Management
- Monitor association budgets, expenses and financial performance in partnership with ACA's Finance team.
- Prepare budgets, financial reports and other information for volunteer leadership.
- Ensure invoices, contracts and payments are handled accurately and on time.
- Maintain organized records and documentation.
Strategic & Organizational Support
- Support boards in implementing strategic plans and achieving organizational priorities.
- Help translate board priorities into realistic action plans and measurable work.
- Provide regular updates on membership, finances, programs, operations and other key activities.
Qualifications
- 4–6 years of experience in association, nonprofit or similar organizational management.
- Experience working with volunteer boards, committees or member-based organizations strongly preferred.
- Experience managing multiple projects, programs or organizational functions simultaneously.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with association management systems, virtual meeting platforms, websites, email marketing, social media and project management tools.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a fully remote environment.
- Ability to travel periodically for board meetings, conferences and other association activities.
- Salary range: $80,000-$85,000
