Job Description
Rep. Suzan DelBene (D‑WA), a Member of Democratic Leadership and the Ways and Means Committee, seeks an experienced Senior Policy Advisor to lead the health care portfolio. The position will also include work on additional policy issues based on the candidate’s expertise and the needs of the team. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience handling health care policy. Strong candidates will possess excellent communication and analytical skills, relevant legislative experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, collaborative setting.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing the Member’s health care portfolio and other assigned issue areas
- Providing strategic policy advice and developing legislative initiatives
- Staffing the Member for committee, floor, and stakeholder engagements
- Monitoring legislative developments and identifying opportunities to advance priorities
- Drafting memos, talking points, and constituent correspondence
- Representing the office in meetings, briefings, and at events
This is not an entry-level position. Prior knowledge of health care policy is required.
