Job Description
Senator Eric Schmitt is currently accepting applications for a Senior Policy and Communications Advisor to help shape and advance the Senator’s legislative and messaging agenda. This role will support the development of bold, forward-looking policy ideas and help translate emerging conservative thinking into clear legislative and communications strategies.
This position is ideal for a sharp, innovative policy thinker and exceptional writer who is equally comfortable shaping policy and driving a message. The advisor will serve on the Senator’s senior staff and play a central role in developing ideas, communicating them effectively, and helping move them through the legislative process.
Key responsibilities include drafting speeches, writing thoughtful long-form social media content, and developing legislative proposals. The role will also work closely with key allies in the Senate and the Trump Administration to advance creative policy solutions and challenge conventional approaches to governing.
Prior Hill experience is not required, but candidates must demonstrate strong writing skills, sound policy instincts, and a solid understanding of the legislative process.
