We have an opening for a Senior Program Associate to support our Access-to-Charging team, specifically our work to ensure public charging investments are efficient, effective, and grounded in equity. We are especially interested in candidates who have experience with electric vehicle charging, community outreach, and program or project management.
We seek candidates who are enthusiastic about electric mobility, comfortable working with diverse organizational partners, and who share our commitment to racial diversity, equity, and inclusion. The successful candidate will be expected to wear many hats, work independently, and play an active role in the organization’s development.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Program Implementation (90%) Working closely with the Program Managers, Senior Program Manager and Access-to-Charging Programs team, the Senior Program Associate supports the development and implementation of access-to-charging infrastructure programs that advance electric mobility in an equitable manner.
- Assist in the development of projects that advance electric mobility, particularly around electric vehicle charging infrastructure
- Work closely with underserved communities to seek and identify ways to advance new clean mobility options for priority populations
- Support the production of project deliverables
- Coordinate with project partners and relevant stakeholders to ensure timely and effective communication
- Support the development and execution of community engagement and outreach campaigns related to project work
- Support the charging team in project development, budgeting, project management and execution, and performance evaluation
- Collect and interpret data from programs; report on learnings
- Travel to and present at conferences and meetings as requested
- Support convening of industry stakeholders and manage working groups to build collaborative support for electric mobility
Business Development (10%) The Senior Program Associate works with our dedicated business development team to develop new project ideas and cultivate new sources of funding from governments, foundations, companies, and other partners.
- Support proposal development and support staff in preparing RFP responses in collaboration with Forth’s business development team
- Maintain knowledge of current industry trends and best practices to identify emerging opportunities, threats, and needs
- Communicate any updates or feedback from clients or partners to the Senior Program Manager as needed.
Other responsibilities as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- A passion for Forth’s mission and values and a desire to deepen your understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion
- 2-3 years of experience in transportation, energy, or energy, non-profit or related field
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, both written and verbal
- Willingness and ability to travel up to four weeks per year for speaking engagements, staff meetings and program needs
- Must be located in Oregon, within 60 miles of downtown Portland
Helpful:
- Subject matter expertise in electric vehicles and charging
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple conflicting projects and meet deadlines while maintaining work-life balance
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with matrixed organizations; ability to use systems thinking and interpret complex stakeholder needs
- Experience working for a non-profit organization with a mission-driven staff and board
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
COMPENSATION
Starting salary range is $55,000 - $67,500 annually, commensurate with experience. Excellent benefits include four weeks paid vacation annually, fully paid health, dental and vision insurance for the employee and all dependents and an employer retirement contribution after six months (no match required).
