Job Title: Senior Project Manager

Employment Status: Exempt

Department: External Affairs

Reports To: Executive Director, Business Services  


Summary


The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the implementation and management of Business Services growth initiatives at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. This role will manage the relationships with potential and existing partners, and create partnerships to expand the reach of our Navy Yard companies. In addition, this position plays a key role in the ongoing development and maintenance of relationships with Navy Yard tenants and supporting opportunities for collaboration, promotion, sales, and overall growth.


Areas of Responsibility

  • Build sustained relationships with all Yard businesses
  • Serves as the Business Services lead on projects involving tenant information. This includes, but is not limited to, capturing information for new tenants, tracking of all sub-communities, and maintaining engagement metrics. 
  • New Tenant Onboarding- manages communication and coordination with leasing and all r relevant internal stakeholders.
  • MWBE/MBE Initiatives- Manages the BSS MWBE Yard company data. Also leads marketing initiatives created for the dual purpose of highlighting our tenants under the BNY brand as well as attracting potential MWBE/MBE tenants to our community.
  • New Tenant Pipeline- works to streamline the process of companies from our incubator and sub-tenant spaces into BNY space as they expand.
  • Data Management- Manages the data management for the life cycle of the tenant, from onboarding to annual tenant information gathering.  
  • Tenant Newsletter- Works across departments on the BSS weekly tenant newsletter, 
  • Work in partnership with all BNYDC departments to identify and manage potential partnerships with external stakeholders that serve to highlight our tenants.
  • Design and Manage tenant engagement initiatives, which may include annual tenant briefings, open house/workshops events, networking and other sales and promotional events for tenants
  • Continue to refine and implement programs and events based upon research findings, evaluation of metrics and other stakeholder feedback.
  • Measure and evaluate the impact of program delivery and synthesize/analyze information in reports.
  • Create proposals, marketing decks, sales collateral with an eye for the Brooklyn Navy Yard brand.
  • Support and grow relationships with partners through collaborative channels, such as events, workshops, startup collaborations, and more.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Genuine interest in the mission of BNYDC 
  • Previous experience working with small businesses; keen understanding of business needs
  • Previous experience in program research, design and management
  • High-energy and entrepreneurial approach 
  • The ability to write well, speak articulately and forcefully, and work on a number of projects independently and simultaneously with close attention to detail
  • Collaborative and team-oriented
  • Demonstrated program management ability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer, internet, research and database skills


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.); Master’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience in relevant field
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to attend evening/weekend meetings and events
