About the Role
As the Sr Marketing Research Manager for Policy & Communications at Uber, your primary responsibilities will include staying current with top regulatory concerns and monitoring how Uber is perceived in those areas. You will also be expected to anticipate potential issues before they become regulatory threats and provide valuable insights and messaging to help elevate Uber’s reputation.
To excel in this role, we seek a candidate with a strong background in government policy marketing research, including experience with both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. A deep understanding of gig economy policy and regulation issues at the city and state levels is preferred. Additionally, you should be familiar with the ‘key opinion former’ audience and have proven experience driving significant impact and outcomes. Strong communication and prioritization skills are also critical.
What You'll Do
- Develop and communicate quarterly policy/budget planning roadmap to Uber’s Policy leaders.
- Leverage research among voters, Uber customers, and Key Opinion Formers to inform strategic direction.
- Educate Uber Policy leaders on new and emerging trends, threats and opportunities, and developments in research, politics, campaign strategy, communications, marketing, business, tech, transportation, and delivery.
- Execute research for both quick-turn crisis response and long-term political positioning strategy.
- Test and optimize political marketing narratives and messages
- Conduct proprietary and for-public-release political surveys.
Basic Qualifications
- Advanced understanding of quantitative and qualitative political data, research methodologies, and analysis.
- Experienced strategic thought partner who drives engagement and influence.
- Strong organizational workstream and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Deep understanding of US state/city gig economy regulatory & policy issues
- Experience working on political and advocacy campaigns at state and city levels

Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Uber’s cultural identity. Unless formally approved to work fully remotely, Uber expects employees to spend at least half of their work time in their assigned office. For certain roles, such as those based at green-light hubs, employees are expected to be in-office for 100% of their time. For Washington, DC-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $180,000 per year - $200,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
