Job Summary

Part time 0.7 FTE Spanish teacher for High School 9th and 10 graders. Salary ranges from $40,000-$53,000 based on years of experience, credential level, etc. The position can be made to be a 0.8 FTE if extra supervisory duties are added. Under the supervision of the Head of School, the Spanish teacher plans, organizes and teaches an instructional program in a safe and positive learning environment that guides students to develop skills, content knowledge, and character in the following classes:

  • Spanish I
  • Spanish 2
  • Spanish 2 (for native speakers)

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Develops and maps out the course curriculum according to state standards; submits to academic dean for approval

Prepares and delivers instructional lesson plans and activities that facilitate learning Spanish in support of approved curriculum

Identifies and provides different instructional resources and methods and relevant technology that meet students' varying needs and that recognize their diverse cultural and economic backgrounds and unique abilities

Observes, encourages and evaluates students’ performance and progress

Assigns and grades class work, homework, tests and assignments in a timely manner

Maintains accurate and complete records of students' attendance, progress and development

Maintains order and discipline in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school

Performs other duties as assigned by the Administrator including supervision, field trip chaperone, substitute teaching; participates in special school events.

Attends and participates in a variety of faculty meetings and professional development activities
