The Office of U.S. Senator Ruben Gallego seeks a dependable, organized, and professional individual to serve as a Staff Assistant/Driver in Washington D.C. This dual-role position combines administrative responsibilities with providing transportation support for the Senator, ensuring smooth operations both in the office and on the road. This position requires the individual be available for some evening and unscheduled hours.
Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, providing exceptional customer service at the front desk
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls, take messages, and handle constituent inquiries efficiently.
- Assist with managing incoming mail and email, ensuring correspondence is logged and routed appropriately.
- Support legislative and administrative staff with research, briefing materials, and other projects as needed.
- Provide safe and reliable transportation for the Senator to and from meetings, events, and official engagements.
- Monitor schedules to ensure punctuality and adjust routes as needed to accommodate last-minute changes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- A clean driving record and valid driver’s license (background checks will be conducted).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
- A professional demeanor and discretion, especially when handling sensitive or confidential matters.
