The DC Office of Congressman Mark Takano is seeking an organized, detail-oriented individual to serve in the position of Staff/Press Assistant in a fast-paced and highly collaborative Capitol Hill office. As staff assistant, this person will provide administrative support to the staff, recruit and manage the office interns, greet visitors, answer phones, respond to constituent requests for services including tours, and staff the Congressman at events, some of which will be during the evening. As press assistant, they will work with the Communications Director on social media content, talking points, news releases, and other writing assignments. An ideal candidate will be able to make content suggestions that are relevant and of interest to our constituency, draft materials on deadline, and have a basic understanding of digital and news media. Capitol Hill experience and/or California ties are preferred, but not required.
